The special extended meeting of the ruling Awami League has been deferred for a week, said a press release of the party yesterday.
It was slated for July 30, but will now be held on August 6 at 10:30pm at AL chief Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Gono Bhaban.
AL leaders and elected representatives down to the thana level will take part in the meeting called by the party chief. It will be the biggest meeting of AL leaders in recent times.
The press release signed by Office Secretary Biplab Barua said the members of AL ‘s national committee; central executive committee; advisory council; presidents and general secretaries of district, city, upazila, thana, and municipality units; party lawmakers; party-nominated chairmen of district councils and upazila parishads; AL-backed mayors of city corporations and municipalities; and presidents will attend the meeting.
