The Jatiya Party’s Raushan Ershad appoints herself its leader

As current Chairman GM Quader is now on a three-day tour to India, Chief Patron of the Jatiya Party Raushan Ershad today formally assumed leadership of the opposition party.

According to officials with the Jatiya Party, four co-chairmen emailed Raushan Ershad in December to express their lack of trust in GM Quader and to claim that he was not qualified to serve as chairman.

According to the sources, Raushan Ershad waited to sign the letter because she wanted to give Quader more time.

However, she signed the letter this morning and claimed to be the party’s chairperson. The change occurs three days after their meeting at the Gono Bhaban with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Raushan Ershad Takes Charge as Jatiya Party Chair After a strategic meeting.

According to a Jatiya Party news release, Raushan stated that she assumed control of this position as chairperson of JP on the recommendation and decision of the party’s top officials and to speed up the party’s operations.

According to a news release, the four co-chairmen include Ruhul Amin Hawlader, as well as the MPs Kazi Firoz Rashid, Salma Islam, and Abu Hossain Babla.

Raushan Ershad will continue to serve as chairman until the next council, which has also been declared as the name of the party’s next council.GM Quader is expected to arrive back in the nation today.
