Slander of Bangladesh judiciary will not be tolerated My News Bangladesh

The Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Advocate Anisul Haque gave a serious warning about making negative comments about the Bangladesh judiciary during a house key handover ceremony for the Kuti Union shelter project in Kasba, Brahmanbaria, on September 1. He emphasized that such statements would not be condoned within the country, emphasizing that in Bangladesh, no one is exempt from the rule of law. The minister stressed that the legal process unfolds at its own pace and that everyone must accept the judgments rendered by the Bangladesh judiciary.

Advocate Anisul Haque made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at the event, where he also highlighted the remarkable development witnessed in the country. He underscored the importance of continuing this positive trend under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and called upon the public to support her in the upcoming elections.

The ceremony, presided over by Kasba Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Sanjib Sarkar, featured other prominent figures, including Kasba Upazila Parishad Chairman Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan Jiban and Kasba Municipal Mayor Golam Haqqani. The minister, during the event, distributed house keys to 52 landless families as part of the shelter scheme initiated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Concerns Over Bangladesh Judiciary in Yunus Case

It’s worth noting that Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Bangladeshi Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has recently been facing increased international attention and support in the wake of ongoing legal proceedings against him. Notably, former U.S. President Barack Obama penned a personal letter in praise of Professor Yunus, followed by an open letter signed by 160 prominent individuals from around the world, including more than a hundred Nobel laureates, including Barack Obama. The open letter expressed concerns about what it termed as “continuous judicial harassment” of Professor Yunus and called for the suspension of the ongoing case against him.

In response to this global show of support, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took to her social media platform to stand in solidarity with Professor Yunus.

The Law Minister’s recent remarks underscore the government’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the Bangladesh judiciary, while international figures continue to voice their concerns regarding the legal proceedings against Nobel laureate Professor Yunus.
