14 Russian civilians killed in Ukraine attack.At least 14 people, including two children, were killed by Ukrainian shelling in the Russian city of Belgorod, Moscow said.

The Russian state news agency Tass, citing the Russian Emergencies Ministry, said the casualties were the result of a “massive” attack on the center of Belgorod on Saturday.”This crime will not go unpunished,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Kiev government… is trying to divert attention from frontline defeats and try to persuade us to take similar action.

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s first deputy permanent representative to the UN, said on Saturday that Russia had requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council after the attack.

From Thursday night into Friday, Russia carried out the largest airstrikes since the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, killing at least 40 people and wounding more than 150. Then came the attack by Ukraine.
