This time, six former Prime Ministers of Australia voted for an independent Palestinian state. A joint statement on Monday claimed that there is no two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian crisis.

In the statement, six former prime ministers of the country said that the basis of lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians is the two-state solution. The statement released on Monday morning condemned the attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7 and called for the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

The statement was signed by former Australian Prime Ministers John Howard, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison. However, former Prime Minister Paul Keating did not sign the statement.
The statement highlighted tensions between Israelis and Palestinians living in Australia. At the same time, Australians are urged to treat each other with love and respect.

It says that if our hearts are filled with hatred, we will commit acts of terrorism. The prime ministers called for continued humanitarian access to Gaza so Palestinians could receive relief.
