7 Bangladeshis wearing Buddhist monk robes have been arrested in Thailand. All those detained are illegal immigrants. They were arrested on Sunday (September 24) from the country’s southern Songkhla province. The country’s media The Tiger reported this information in a report on Monday.

According to the report, Songkhla Immigration and Hat Yai Tourist Police conducted a joint operation and arrested in Thailand them. All 7 arrested are men. They wanted to use Thailand as a route to Malaysia. Authorities said they shaved their heads and dressed as Buddhist monks to blend in with locals and avoid the attention of authorities.

A 46-year-old man was leading this Bangladeshi team. They entered Thailand from Bangladesh through Myanmar. According to the local prosecution, seven arrested in Thailand persons have been charged with illegal entry into Thailand. They had no proof that they were Buddhist monks.
