Md. Jahangir Alam said, ‘The twelfth parliamentary election is imminent. Elections should be organized within the stipulated time as per the constitution. As per custom, before announcing the schedule, the Commission paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the President. In continuation of this, the meeting is scheduled for Thursday.
In that case His Excellency the President will be informed about all the progress related to the election preparations. If His Excellency the President has suggestions and instructions regarding the preparation, the Commission will listen to them. The jurisdiction to declare the schedule rests entirely with the Election Commission. The commission meeting in this regard has not been held yet.
