After cutting off the hands of the Awami League leader in Shajahanpur of Bogra, miscreants hacked him to death with sharp weapons. The incident took place at the Shabrul Mathailchapar area of ​​the upazila around 10 a.m. on Saturday (September 2).

Deceased Shahjalal Talukdar Parvez (50) was a resident of the Shabarul area of ​​Ashekpur Union of the Upazila and a lecturer of Kaichar Technical and BMT College of Sadar Upazila. He was the Vice President of Ashekpur Union Awami League.

Ashekpur Union Chairman Hazrat Ali said, ‘Parvez was going to Bogra town from Sabrul Bazar in the morning. On the way, four to five terrorists came in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in the Mathail Chapar area and stopped him. Parvez ran from there and took shelter in a nearby house. After going there, the miscreants ran away. Later the locals rescued him and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

The UP chairman also said, ‘After hearing the news of his son’s death, Parvez’s father, former member Montu Mia, is admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke. About a month and a half ago, Parvez’s elder brother Panna was stabbed by miscreants demanding extortion. At that time Panna survived but the miscreants threatened to kill her younger brother Parvez.

SI Anisur Rahman of Lihimpur Medical Outpost said, ‘A person named Parvez was brought to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in critical condition around 11 am. He had injuries on his head, and right hand, and his right wrist was severed. After being brought to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

Shahidul Islam, OC of Shajahanpur police station, said, ‘It is not yet known why he was killed. Police are working to arrest those involved.’
