Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, Awami League is a democratic and electoral party. Awami League consolidated the country’s democracy. AL did not come in charge of running the country without election or any other method. AL has never formed a government without democratic system. AL was repeatedly elected by the people’s vote.
He made this comment at the foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremony of 10 thousand 41 infrastructure projects of 157 projects of 24 ministries and departments of the country, connected virtually from Ganobhaban on Tuesday morning.
Sheikh Hasina said that there has been so much progress in the country due to being in power for a long time. Our goal is to make the country Smart Bangladesh by 2041.
The Prime Minister said that Ziaur Rahman started the culture of stealing votes in the country. We have ensured the right of people to vote. The literacy rate during BNP was 47 percent. And the Awami League government brought it to 76 percent.
