Bangladesh widens market share in world RMG commerce

Stays second largest exporter internationally

Bangladesh gained a better share of world garment commerce in 2022 and retained its second place amongst apparel-exporting nations, in keeping with knowledge launched by the World Commerce Organisation (WTO) on Monday.

Bangladesh’s share in garment commerce rose to 7.90 p.c in 2022 from 6.40 percent the previous year.

China continued to stay the most important exporter of clothes within the world market with a 31.7 p.c market share.

Vietnam was the third-largest attire exporter in 2022, grabbing 6.1 p.c market share, the WTO mentioned in its World Commerce Statistical Evaluate 2023.

Bangladesh exported garment objects value $45 billion in 2022, the information confirmed.

China exported attire value $182 billion and Vietnam shipped merchandise amounting to $35 billion in 2022, in keeping with WTO knowledge.
