The Dhaka University unit of Chhatra League today sought permission from the university authorities to hold a rally either in the Gymnasium field or at the Central Shaheed Minar area tomorrow.
DU Chhatra League, however, has not yet fixed whether it would be a part of ruling Awami League’s “peace rally”, also planned for tomorrow.

They made the appeal with the DU authorities at a time when the Dhaka Metropolitan Police is yet to give permission to the ruling Awami League to hold their rallies in the south gate of Baitul Mukarram mosque area in the capital tomorrow.
“We have applied for permission to hold rally either in Gymnasium or Central Shaheed Minar areas. We will finalise the nature of our rally after holding a meeting,” Tanbir Hasan Shaikat, general secretary of DU unit BCL, told The My News.
Contacted, DU proctor Prof Maksudur Rahman said he is in a meeting right now and would be able to tell about the matter after reaching his office.
