General Secretary of Awami League and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, ‘BNP failed in normal movement and turned towards sabotage. We are getting news, messages are being sent from London, that the Guptas will carry out secret assassinations if necessary. They (BNP) are preparing for more terrible secret attacks. I urge everyone to be careful.’
He said these things in a briefing at Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi on Saturday morning. Obaidul Quader said, ‘People are looking forward to vote, the election will be competitive. No matter how much BNP spreads propaganda, people will not listen to their words. They distribute leaflets on how bankrupt they are.’The minister also said, ‘They can terrorize the people by making corpses, the law and order forces should be more careful about this.’ Regarding the election, he said, ‘We will not take responsibility if the candidates get involved in clashes. We will not interfere if the Election Commission takes any action through law enforcement agencies. I will appeal to the candidates for responsible behavior.’
