BNP on hunger strike in Nayapaltan demanding better treatment of Khaleda Zia My News Bangladesh

The party is on hunger strike demanding the release of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and her being sent abroad for better treatment. The hunger strike started at 11 am on Saturday morning in front of the central office of Nayapaltan party in Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP jointly. It will continue till 2 pm.

It has been seen on the ground that thousands of leaders and activists from different wards and police stations of Dhaka city are coming to Nayapaltan with a march from 10 am based on the hunger strike. The activists are holding party and national flags, banners, festoons and placards and chanting various slogans demanding the release of Begum Khaleda Zia.

Meanwhile, heavy presence of police has been noticed in Nayapaltan area around the hunger strike. Police are on high alert to deal with any situation.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is present as the chief guest in the hunger strike. BNP leader Dr. Abdus Salam, convener of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP, presided over the hunger strike and moderated by North member secretary Aminul Haque and South Acting member secretary Liton Mahmud. Abdul Moin Khan, Barkat Ullah Bulu, Ataur Rahman Dhali, Dr. Farhad Halim Donor, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal etc.
