Boat and Eagles supporters clash 2 injured. Clash occurred between the supporters of Chittagong-16 (Baskhali) Constituency boat candidate Mustafizur Rahman and independent candidate of Eagle symbol Mujibur Rahman. The clash took place in front of the Banskhali Upazila Awami League office after Tuesday evening. Two youths named Roni Dash (29) and Jasim Uddin (32) were injured in this incident. They were treated at a local hospital.
Tofail Ahmed, OC of Banskhali police station, said that when the supporters of both sides faced each other, some bricks and stones were thrown. The police immediately cleared the situation and removed the supporters. The administration is in a strict position to keep the situation normal.Eyewitnesses said that in the evening, the boat symbol candidate Mostafizur Rahman MP came out with his supporters from inside the Upazila Awami League office.
At the same time, when supporters of independent candidate Mujibur Rahman came from the north, both sides faced each other. Meanwhile, supporters of both sides started shouting slogans. Senior leaders tried unsuccessfully to move worker supporters. Later, the police went and removed the two parties. At that time, bricks were thrown from both sides and Roni and Jasim were injured.
