Engineer Khairul Kabir (38) drowned himself after rescuing his colleague’s two children who fell into the lake’s water. The accident happened on Sunday (September 10) at 9 a.m. Bangladesh time in Shizuoka Prefecture Lake, 150 kilometers away from Tokyo, the capital of Japan. Deceased Khairul Kabir is the son of the deceased Abul Kashem Shikder of Shalgaria Renaissance Pathaga area of Pabna city. According to family sources, Khairul Kabir joined Japan’s Rakuten seven years ago as a software engineer.
He lived in Masida, Tokyo, with his family. Went on a family trip with expatriate relatives and several colleagues. On Sunday morning they went to Shijuwaka Prefectural Lake. There two teenage sons of two colleagues fell into the lake.
Khairul jumped to rescue them. After rescuing the two teenagers and lifting them up, he himself sank into the lake.
On receiving the information, various organizations, including the police and fire service, rescued him around noon after conducting a three-hour operation. Then the doctors there declared him dead.
Khairul’s wife Mitu said, ‘After rescuing the colleague’s two children, Khairul drowned in deep water in front of our eyes. I also have two children. How can I comfort them now?’
