Supporters of blockade called by BNP and Jamaat staged a protest by burning tires on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Mauna Chowrasta in Gazipur. On Tuesday morning, they took position at different points on the Dhaka-Myensingh highway. At this time, Maona started protesting by burning tires on the road at Palli Vidyut intersection. Protesters set fire to tires in Salna area as well.At this time, they shouted anti-government slogans.
On the surface, loose blockade has been observed in Shibbari, Rajbari, Chandana Chowrasta, Bhogra Bypass and surrounding areas of Gazipur. The number of vehicles on the Dhaka-Mymensingh and Dhaka-Tangail highways and regional highways is very less as compared to other days. No long-distance vehicles were seen plying till 9 am.Vigilant position of the police was seen at every intersection.
On this day, train communication with the capital Dhaka was normal. Rezaul Karim, Station Master of Joydevpur Railway Junction, said that the trains left on time from the northern region and the trains left on time from Gazipur towards Dhaka.
