6 killed in gold mine collapse in Zimbabwe It is reported that 13 miners have been rescued so far. Also 15 more people are trapped underground.

The BBC reported that more than 30 people were trapped when the Bay Horse gold mine collapsed in the Chegutu area, 100 kilometers west of Zimbabwe’s capital Harare, on Friday morning (September 29) local time.

The rescue operation for the rest of the trapped people is still going on. However, it is not known what caused this collapse.Basic safety measures are often largely ignored in Zimbabwean mines. Thousands of workers risk their lives in mines across Africa.
