The appeal and bail application of Adilur and Nasir, who were sentenced to imprisonment in the ICT Act case, will be heard by Justice Md. Senior lawyer AJ Muhammad Ali presented Emdadul Haque Azad in the bench.

Then Justice Md. Emdadul Haque told him, ‘Let the applicant’s lawyers present their arguments first. Then you give your argument. Why did you jump before the petitioners’ lawyers could argue? (You) have made the country a hell.’The bench then heard the bail plea and granted bail to Adilur and Nasir in the ICT Act case.Besides, the bench also suspended the lower court’s order of Tk 10,000 fine on the two.

The case was filed on the charge of spreading confusion about the death toll in the operation to evacuate Hefazet Islam activists from Shapla Chattar in Motijheel, Dhaka on May 5-6, 2013.

On September 14, Judge AM Zulfiqar Hayat of the Cyber ​​Tribunal of Dhaka announced the judgment of the case. In the verdict, Adilur Nasir was sentenced to 2 years in prison and fined 10 rupees.

Later, on September 25, through lawyers, Adilur and Nasir submitted an appeal to the relevant division of the High Court. The petition sought to set aside the judgment of the lower court and acquit the charges.
