Israeli President Isaac Herzog says Hezbollah is ‘playing with fire’. He also said that Lebanon will pay the price if Israel is attacked.

The Israeli president also described the attack by Hamas on October 7 as ‘the worst atrocity of modern times’. However, he did not say anything about the fact that Israeli forces have killed more than 5,000 Palestinians, including hundreds of women and children.

According to the Guardian, Herzog accused Lebanon’s Hezbollah of “playing with fire” in northern Israel. In a joint press conference with the French president, Herzog said that he is concerned about the rise of anti-Semitism around the world, including in France, and that the international community must take strong action.

Calling Israel’s war situation with Hamas “extremely complex and fragile,” he said Israel must “immediately release all our citizens who have been kidnapped and robbed.”

He said Israel does not distinguish between those detained by Hamas who hold Israeli passports and those with ‘any other citizenship’. They are all one. At this time, he said, we want them back immediately. He blamed Iran for creating tension between Hezbollah and Israel.
