A Jubo League leader named Uday Shankar Biswas was shot dead by miscreants in Jessore’s Manirampur. This incident took place in the Panchakari area of the upazila on Monday morning.
Deceased Uday Shankar was the convenor of Nehalpur Union Jubo League leader. He was also serving as a lecturer at Nehal School and College and President of Panchakari Tekerghat Girls’ School.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manirampur Police Station. Moniruzzaman said that Uday Shankar Biswas was returning home on a motorcycle from the market in the morning. The miscreants shot at him and ran away. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital with bullet wounds, where the doctors on duty declared him dead.
Md. Moniruzzaman also said that several police teams went to the scene and the hospital after receiving the information. The police have already entered the field to investigate the incident and arrest the accused. It is initially believed that the killing may have taken place due to a dispute between the school’s managing committee.
