A man was arrested yesterday in a case filed under the Digital Security Act in Thakurgaon for making “derogatory remarks” about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and followers of Awami League on Facebook.
Amanullah Aman, a 28-year-old quack (untrained doctor found in villages) from Amgaon union of Haripur upazila, undermined PM Hasina and Awami League followers in a Facebook post on July 18, said the case statement,
For all latest news, follow The My News’s Google News channel. Enraged by the post, Mizanur Rahman, a member of the advisory council of the upazila unit Awami League, filed the case under DSA.
The post was deliberately uploaded to create unrest in the country and topple the government, said the statement.
Haripur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sahidur Rahman, said, primarily, evidence was found of derogatory remarks against the PM and AL party men.
