Planning Minister MA Mannan said, ‘There is no other option except elections. There will be an election. The boat is always there as a symbol of freedom. The minister said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the discussion meeting with the locals in Gobindganj area of Chatak upazila of Sunamganj on Tuesday (October 24) afternoon. Gobindganj Development Group organized this meeting.
The planning minister said, ‘We did not obey the words of the Americans and the British. Let them come and talk. I will listen But we will run our country.’
MA Mannan said, ‘Sheikh Hasina is the servant of the country. The whole world respects him. Millions of people of the country salute him. He has done Padmasetu. Bangabandha tunneled. Thousands of schools, colleges, madrassas in the country. No one else can do so much development.’ He also said, ‘We were slaves of Punjab, Pathans, Mughals, Pakistanis. Bangabandhu made Bangladesh independent. Bengalis can do everything. The wicked talk many things. Don’t listen to them. My Sheikh Hasina has to come to power by voting by boat in the next election.
Ayub Karam Ali, chairman of the organizing organization, expatriate from the UK, presided over the exchange meeting and gave a welcome speech.
