Police filed three more cases against 182 named and many other unnamed BNP leaders and activists in Dhaka and Narayanganj over Saturday’s clashes between the party men and law enforcers.
In Dhaka, a case was filed with Darussalam Police Station against 52 named and many unnamed activists while another with Demra Police Station against 107 named and many unnamed others.
For all latest news, follow The My News’s Google News channel. In Narayanganj, a case was filed under Explosive Substances Act against 23 named and 300-400 BNP leaders and activists, said Golam Mostofa, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station.
Seven accused in the case have been arrested, added the police official.
Witnesses said BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police on the highway in Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj yesterday.
So far, 651 named and many other unnamed BNP men have been accused in 14 cases over the clashes that took place in Nayabazar, Dholaikhal, Jatrabari, Matuail, Uttara, Abdullahpur in Dhaka and on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Narayanganj, as the party leaders and activists tried to hold sit-in programmes at entry points to the capital yesterday.
