Road communication with Baghaichhari and Sajek has been severed due to heavy rains for several days. The incident took place on Monday (September 18) around 10 o’clock in the Shukna Hrama area of Dighinala Sajek Road. Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rumana Akhter confirmed the truth of the incident.
He said that as a result of heavy rains for a few days, landslides occurred in the area adjacent to 54 BGB Camp, 10 Nanshukanachari Baraitali of Baghaichhari. Road communication with upazila and Sajek was stopped all over the country.
He also said that a truck carrying stones for the border road is also stuck at present. However, there was no casualty in the landslide.
He said that the matter of landslides has been informed to all including the Roads and Highways Department. Hopefully the road soil can be removed by morning. Tourists will not have any problem with this.
