US widens blacklist of companies

Washington added extra China-based firms to a blacklist Tuesday, barring their items from coming into the US as officers search to take away pressured labor — particularly involving minorities just like the Uyghur individuals — from provide chains.

Battery maker Camel Group, together with Chenguang Biotech Group, are the most recent to be included within the Uyghur Compelled Labor Prevention Act entity record.

The companies had been focused over accusations of working with China’s authorities to recruit, transport or obtain pressured labor, or members of persecuted teams like Uyghur minorities out of the Xinjiang area. “As we speak’s additions exhibit the US’ unwavering dedication to eliminating pressured labor…,” mentioned US Commerce Consultant Katherine Tai in a press release.
