Election Commissioner Brig. General (Retd.) Md. Ahsan Habib Khan said, many of you have experience in conducting elections. Some don’t. I hope everyone will be equally confident after this training and give a nice acceptable selection.
Ahsan Habib said these words at the opening ceremony of the four divisional commissioner, police commissioner, DIG, police superintendent and election commission secretariat regional and district election management training on Saturday.
Addressing the DC-SPs, Ahsan Habib said, “In my view, you are the faithful assistants of the Election Commission at the field level and you have represented us. After taking our oath, thousands of people have sincerely cooperated with the Returning Officer by maintaining 100% neutrality in the elections. As a result of which every election has been fair and acceptable without any kind of violence in a festive atmosphere. My heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all. I sincerely believe that such trend will be maintained in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections.
He said, we always say knowledge is power. To enhance this knowledge, the need for training is immense. Many of you have experience in conducting elections. Some don’t. I hope everyone will be equally confident after this training and give a nice acceptable selection.
He said, I don’t like discussing/criticizing the past. But let’s learn from the past and create an example of fair elections for future generations.
