Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi MP said that the price of sugar has increased and decreased due to the dollar price. We can’t even bring sugar from India, we have to bring it from far away. Due to which the price of sugar has been affected. Currently, the price of the dollar is stable. We have to import all the sugar. I think the price of sugar will not rise again.
The Minister of Commerce said these things to the reporters after collecting the boat symbol as the candidate of Awami League in Rangpur-4 (Pirgacha-Kaunia) constituency in the 12th National Parliament election at Rangpur District Commissioner’s conference room on Monday afternoon.
The commerce minister said that we have taken sufficient measures so that the price of sugar does not increase during fasting. Sufficient bookings have been made for supply of sugar through TCB. More bookings are in progress.
In response to the question that importers are not able to open LCs due to the dollar crisis, he said, “We are taking necessary measures regarding the import of food products by big importers.”
