In the letter sent to Jahangir Alam, it is said, accept greetings. In view of the above, it is being informed that you have been expelled from the organization for your involvement in activities against the interests, ideals, discipline, constitution and declaration of Bangladesh Awami League. The Bangladesh Awami League Central Executive Council announced a general amnesty to the apologists on the condition that they do not violate the organization’s interests and discipline in the future. Apologies to you on that basis as well. Note that any anti-organizational activities in future will be considered unforgivable.

Incidentally, Jahangir Alam became the mayor of Gazipur City, the largest city corporation of the country, as a candidate of Awami League in the 2018 elections. On November 25, 2021, Mayor Jahangir was expelled from the Awami League and suspended from the post of mayor due to a secret audio-video accusation against Jahangir Alam of making fun of the liberation war and heroic martyrs.

Awami League pardoned Jahangir Alam on December 17 last year. Jahangir Alam was once again expelled from the Awami League on the charge of acting on behalf of his mother Zayeda Khatun as the mayoral candidate when his nomination was canceled as a candidate in the elections to be held in Gazipur City on May 25.
