Government cannot be overthrown by killing people. Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has condemned the incident of cutting the railway line and derailment of seven coaches along with the train engine in Gazipur, saying that the government cannot be overthrown by killing people.
He said this while interacting with the newly elected committee of FBCCI, the apex body of traders, at Ganabhaban on Wednesday afternoon.The Prime Minister said, ‘Will the government be overthrown by killing people? Movement by killing people? I don’t know what they will get by doing this movement?’
He said, ‘BNP is doing this burning. Every day they are calling for blockade and hartal. Does strike-blockade mean burning some buses, burning cars, burning buses with passengers? ‘
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Rice is going, rice wagons are being burnt, rice is going and rice wagons are being burnt. It means starving people. They have done this incident before in 2013. I don’t know if anyone can stop them. The government cannot be overthrown by killing these people. ‘
Awami League president said, ‘I don’t know exactly, I don’t know what kind of movement is done by burning people. We have also campaigned for the establishment of voting rights of the people, for the establishment of democracy, and for the economic development of the people. But I have not seen such a movement. ‘
He said, ‘I saw the Pakistani invasion forces, they burnt us all like this. And now I see the attack of Israel on Palestine, the hospital is not spared. They bombarded the hospital. We can see the same picture in our country. ‘
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘When attacking ambulances in the name of agitation, entering police outposts and burning ambulances there; Attacking the police, beating the police to the ground; Such horrible incidents are happening in Bangladesh. It is a movement. So whose interest is the movement?’
Referring to the incident of cutting the railway line and the derailment of seven coaches along with the train engine in Gazipur, the Prime Minister said, ‘Just think, what a destructive act. They have been rescued. That means killing people by throwing railway carriages.’
Calling upon the people to stand against the BNP-Jamaat movement, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Those who uproot railway lines to kill people or imagine killing people by cutting railway lines and causing accidents or burning living people to death have no sense of humanity. It must be resisted by the people. That is my call to the people of the whole country.
