Punishment for non-payment of rent tax: Obaidul Quader

General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader said, ‘If you don’t pay the utility bill, you will be punished. If electricity and water bills are not paid, the line will be cut. If you don’t pay rent, tax, you will be punished, it’s simple.’

Obaidul Quader said these things regarding BNP’s non-cooperation movement at a regular press briefing at the Awami League president’s political office at Dhanmondi in the capital on Sunday.

Quader said that Tariq Rahman has called upon the leaders and activists to hold non-cooperation movement in the country. But already the fingers of many of the people of the party have become banana trees. If they hear Tarek’s call, their mangoes will also peel. There is no reason to think that those with swollen fingers will heed Tarek’s call.

Awami League general secretary said to BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman, ‘I say once again that they are calling for these strange movements by remote control. Why is he not physically there? If you have courage, come, Mokbela will be on the streets.’

Quader said, ‘Rizvi was released; Today I heard that 10-12 people marched in Chandina in fog.Making videos in his own way and sending it to television, promoting it on Facebook. It is called movement. There will be no revolution in Bangladesh like this.’
