Sale of 3362 nomination forms of Awami League, income is 17 crores

Awami League has sold 3,362 nomination forms in four days for the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections. Among them, 121 forms have been purchased online by the party nomination aspirants. The income of the party is 16 crore 81 lakh taka.

Party secretary Biplab Barua told reporters after selling nomination forms at the Awami League central office on Bangabandhu Avenue on Tuesday.He said that 730 nomination forms were sold in Dhaka Division, 659 in Chittagong Division, 409 in Rajshahi Division, 416 in Khulna Division, 302 in Rangpur Division, 295 in Mymensingh Division, 172 in Sylhet Division and 258 in Barisal Division. 

Awami League nomination forms were officially sold at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue last Saturday (November 18) morning. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the sale of nomination papers. 

Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, a member of the advisory council of the party, first collected the party nomination form on behalf of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina to participate in the election in Gopalganj-3 constituency. 

10 booths for eight divisions were set up at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital. Forms are sold from there. Sale of nomination forms and acceptance of submissions will continue till 4 pm on Tuesday. This time the price of party nomination form of Awami League has been set at 50 thousand taka. The 12th National Parliament election will be held on January 7 next year (2024). 

According to the announced schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers for the election is November 30, scrutiny of nomination papers will be from December 1 to 4, nomination appeal and disposal will be from December 6 to 15, last date for withdrawal of candidature will be December 17, allotment of symbols will be on December 18, election campaigning will be on December 18. to 8 am on January 5 and polling will be held on January 7.
