Sheikh Hasina on her way to Rangpur.The Prime Minister’s visit is to seek votes for the 12th National Assembly elections on January 7.Earlier, confirming the visit of Sheikh Hasina, Pirganj Upazila Awami League general secretary and municipal mayor Tajimul Islam Shamim said that party candidate Abul Kalam Md. came to Sayedpur by air in the morning.

After Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury Duke’s public meeting, the Prime Minister will come to Laldighi Fatehpur, Pirganj’s village home. After visiting her husband’s grave there, Sheikh Hasina will spend time with her close family members. After that in the afternoon he will join the public meeting at Pirganj Government High School ground.

He also said that the Upazila Awami League has completed all preparations to welcome Sheikh Hasina and make the public meeting a success. It is believed that more than 2 lakh people will gather in this public meeting.

On the arrival of the Prime Minister and the daughter-in-law of Pirganj, the whole upazila is dressed up, there is a massive campaign including postering and miking. Sheikh Hasina’s public meeting with Awami League nominated candidate Speaker Dr. District Awami League leaders held an extended meeting to make Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury the winner.

Security has been strengthened in view of Sheikh Hasina’s arrival. Various intelligence agencies and security personnel including SSF, NSI, DGF, Army, BGB, Police are continuing surveillance since Saturday night to provide security to the Prime Minister.

Regarding the Prime Minister’s public meeting, Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that all kinds of preparations are in place to make the public meeting a success. Millions of people will come here. The Prime Minister has done a lot of development in the entire Rangpur division including his in-laws Pirganj. Bangladesh has become a role model for the world.
