BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been arrested by the police.Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP Chairperson’s press wing, confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratid this Sunday morning.
Mirza Fakhrul’s wife Rahat Ara Begum said that around 9:30 in the morning, the DB police came to the house (in Gulshan). They talk to everyone in the house including Mirza Fakhrul Islam. Then he left with the CCTV footage of the house on the hard disk. After exactly 10 minutes they came back and arrested him.
He said that Mirza Fakhrul was very ill, his treatment was going on. I can’t accept being taken like this, a 75-year-old man. I hope that if he wants to be questioned, he will be released.
