Eating places wish to import meat

An affiliation of restaurant house owners yesterday sought permission from the federal government to import broiler chicken, mutton and beef to counter an increase of their costs.

“The costs will go down provided that the federal government permits imports,” stated Imran Hasan, secretary normal of the organisation, at a press convention organised by the affiliation at Police Conference Corridor.

Beef offered for Tk 750 to Tk 780 per kilogramme in kitchen markets in Dhaka yesterday whereas mutton for Tk 1,000 to Tk 1,100 and broiler hen for Tk 175 to Tk 180, based on the Buying and selling Company of Bangladesh.

Within the final one 12 months, the value of beef has elevated by 15.04 p.c, mutton by 16.67 per cent and broiler hen by 9.91 p.c.

House owners of large-scale farms are forming syndicates to boost costs of broiler hen and beef and this has led to a fall in sale at motels and eating places by 30 p.c, he claimed.

The world goes via a disaster because of the Russia-Ukraine warfare and Bangladesh is not any exception, as costs of fish and meat are rising every single day, stated Hassan.

“Now we have come to know that the federal government will export beef. However there’s not sufficient beef in our nation. The worth of beef in our nation is way increased than that in different nations. How can we go for exports?” he stated.
